What Does it Do - Tools for Selling

  • Featured Items: Timber provides a very simple component for “featuring” selected items in your inventory.
  • Remote Access: Anywhere that you have access to the Internet, you can use your Web site to make sales. To sell your inventory from a remote location (book fairs, trade shows or other exhibitions) just open up your laptop, launch your Web browser, and go to your Web site!
  • New/Used/Closeout Differentiation: If your inventory includes used or closeout versions of the same book, you can use your in-store system to add a “U” or “C” to the ISBN number, and Timber will treat them as separate items on the Web site. (The extra letter will not be displayed on the Web site.)
  • Web Store Book Categorization: If you sell books on campus or have a similar need to place books into categories (by class number or genre), you can separate them by adding the category name to the “Memo” field in your point-of-purchase system. (If you use the “Memo” field to hold other information, Timber will still be able to find the categories that you enter.) Based on the categories entered in your in-store point-of-purchase system, Timber will automatically place a link to a complete list of all the books that fall into each category (examples: Poli Sci 513, Geography Spring 101, Love, Travel).
  • Book Search: All Timber packages include a keyword search area. Your customers can search your inventory by Title, Description, Author, or ISBN.
